Adelaide Louise McVicker, entered eternal life at the age of 93 on October 13th, 2014 in Brillion, Wisconsin. Adelaide was born August 13, 1921 in Arona, Pennsylvania, daughter of George Jacob Garlow and Sarah Mildred (Shupe) Garlow. She spent early years helping with animals and vegetables on her parents' farm. She graduated as Salutatorian from Greensburg Penna High School in 1939, and then worked in the Payroll Accounting Dept. at the Westinghouse Corporation in Pittsburg. She met her husband, Howard McVicker on the commuter train to work and they were married on June 30, 1945 in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. They celebrated almost 66 happy years together until Howard's death on February 12, 2011. They made homes in Pennsylvania, Upstate New York, Illinois and Wisconsin. They moved to Brillion in 1978, where Adelaide was an active member at St. Bartholomew Lutheran Church, serving in the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed local and world travel, gardening, reading, cooking, and was an excellent baker for her family and for others. She enjoyed the many friendships formed in Brillion, especially those of her neighbors on Sunrise Circle. She participated in golf, bowling, and bridge leagues for many years. She was also an avid Packers fan. Kind, gentle and generous, she will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Adelaide is survived by her daughter, Laurie (Charles) Norris of Union, IL, grandson Justin (Lyeanda) Norris, and great-grandchildren Harvey Edward and Sicily Jean Norris, all of Ringstead, England.
