Obituary

Alfonse A. Sippel, 87, formerly of Sheboygan, died Oct.8, 2010 at Kinnic LongTerm Care in River Falls WI. Alfonse was born April 14, 1923 to Albert and Louise (Michels) Sippel in the Town of Marshfield, Fond du Lac County. On September 13, 1947 Alfonse married Virginia Weber at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mt.Calvary WI. Virginia (Ginny) passed away May 8, 1998. Alfonse worked at the Kohler Co. in Kohler WI in the brass (buffing) department and was a 40+ year employee. He was a longtime member of St. Dominic's Catholic Church in Sheboygan. Alfonse's main hobbies were fishing and playing cards and he enjoyed travel and listening to polka music and baseball games. He especially enjoyed family gatherings. After physical problems he resided at Pinehaven Christian Home in Sheboygan Falls. He moved to Kinnic Longterm Care in River Falls, WI. in 2007 to be closer to his children and grandchildren. Alfonse is survived by two children, William (Barbara) Sippel of St.Paul MN; and John (Gladi) Sippel of River Falls WI; two grandchildren Katharine (Glennon) Park of Rosevillle MN; and David Sippel of New York NY; three great grandchildren Charles, Anna, and Thomas Park, four brothers, Edward of Sheboygan Falls WI; LeRoy (Rawleen) of St. Cloud WI; Cletus (Janet) of St. Cloud WI; Fr. Bernard Sippel of Wauwatosa WI; sister-in-law Helen Sippel of Wauwatosa WI; brothers-in-law Ervin Simon of St. Joe WI and Harvey Weber of Greenfield WI and many nieces , nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, a brother (Ambrose) and sisters in law Betty Simon and Bernice Sippel; and brother-in-law Donald Weber. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 18, 2010 at St. Isidore Parish Holy Cross Church 308 County Road W in Mt. Calvary, WI. Rev. Bernard Sippel, Alfonse's brother, will officiate. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Mt. Calvary WI. Family and friends may call at the church on Monday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of services.
