Alfred "Al" Keller, age 98, of rural St. Cloud, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at Lakehouse Assisted Living in New Holstein where he resided since July of 2023.

He was born November 3, 1925, in St. Cloud, to Henry & Gertrude (Hanke) Keller. Al attended St. Cloud Catholic Grade School and graduated from New Holstein High School in 1943. He was the first president of the New Holstein High School Future Farmers of America "FFA" chapter during the 1942-1943 class year.

On October 26, 1948, he married Elaine Kohlmann at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Dotyville; Elaine preceded him in death on September 1, 2018.

Al, Elaine, and their children operated the Keller dairy farm in rural St. Cloud. Al & Elaine retired from dairy farming when he was 62 and continued to cash crop their farmland for several more years. Al & Elaine enjoyed traveling once they fully retired. He and Elaine also enjoyed dancing and playing cards, such as sheepshead and euchre, with family and friends.

Al was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, sturgeon spearing, boating, and snowmobiling. He was a lifetime member of the Riverside Hunting & Fishing Club; serving as director, treasurer, and president over the course of his lifetime. Al was also a Hunter Safety instructor for 15 years. In addition to being a member of Riverside, Al was a member of Our Lady of the Holyland Parish-St. Cloud.

Al is probably best known for "Keller's Landing", providing recreational access to the Sheboygan River on the West end of the Sheboygan Marsh.

Survivors include his five children, Diane Keller & her spouse, Susan McKay of Dallas, TX, Karen (Warren) Urban of Sheboygan, WI, Mary Jo (Elwyn) Mantei of Marinette, WI, Robert (Beth) Keller of St. Cloud, WI, and Jane Keller-Allen & her husband, Tom Allen of McFarland, WI; seven grandsons, Braden (Kari) Mantei, Matthew (Jackie) Keller, Ian (Maggie) Keller, Wyatt Keller, Christopher (Sonya) Allen, Ryan Allen, and Nicholas Allen; three great-grandchildren, Crew Mantei, Hudson Mantei, and Palmer Mantei; sister-in-law, Darlene Kelroy; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Elaine; his parents, Henry & Gertrude Keller; his sister, Edwina (Paul) Schumacher; his brothers-in-law, Harold (Yvonne) Kohlmann and John Kelroy.

A Liturgy Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Our Lady of the Holyland Parish-St. Cloud, 924 Main Street St. Cloud, WI 53079. Rev. Larry Abler, OFM Cap will officiate. Al will be laid to rest next to his wife, Elaine, in the St. Cloud Cemetery following the Mass.

Visitation: Family and friends may visit with Al's family at the Sippel Funeral Home, 1311 Thorp Street, St. Cloud, WI on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again at the funeral home Wednesday morning, January 31st from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM.

A prayer service will be held at the funeral home Tuesday evening at 6:30 PM.
