Alice M. Blonigen, age 95, formerly of St. Cloud, passed away Monday, January 1, 2018, at Field of Dreams Assisted Living in Kiel. Alice Sippel was born June 24, 1922, to Nick & Margaret (Goeser) Sippel. She attended grade school at St. Michael Grade School in Dotyville. Alice graduated from Fond du Lac Senior High School. On January 26, 1946, she married Alois E. Blonigen at St. Michael Catholic Church in Dotyville. Alois preceded her in death on November 4, 1994. Alice worked in St. Louis, MO during World War II at an ammunition plant until the end of the war. She moved back to the area and worked at Petrie's Restaurant, Sargento in Plymouth, and at the Cabaret in St. Cloud; as well as raising her family in St. Cloud. She was a member of St. Isidore Parish-St. Cloud Church and played cards with various card clubs. Alice is survived by her son, Mark (Elaine) Blonigen of Waukesha; her daughters, Carol (Jeff) Dowland of Mount Calvary, Jean (Joe) Keuler of Chilton, Joyce (Tom) Jahns of Fond du Lac, Monica (Steve) Lieffring of Elkhart Lake, and Kay (Bill) Wells of Waukesha; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; her brothers & sisters, Gerald Sippel, John (Eva) Sippel, Ronald (Jayne) Sippel, Rosemary Yekenewicz, and Judy Schmitz; sister-in-law, Judie Huebner. She is further survived by nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Alois, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Marie Wegner; her brothers, Gordon (Mary) Sippel, Ralph Sippel, David Sippel; sister-in-law, Deloris Sippel; and brothers-in-law, Peter Yekenewicz and Roger Schmitz. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 6, 2018, at St. Isidore Parish-St. Cloud Church, 924 Main Street, St. Cloud, WI 53079. Rev. Gary Wegner, OFM Cap will officiate. Alice will be laid to rest next to her husband, Alois and daughter, Marie, in the St. Cloud Catholic Cemetery. Visitation: Family and friends may greet the family on Saturday morning, January 6th at the Sippel Funeral Home, 1311 Thorp Street in St. Cloud from 9:30 AM until 11:15 AM. Memorials in Alice's name may be directed to the family for Heartland Hospice.
