Alice J. (Konen) Dreifuerst, age 94, of rural New Holstein "Marytown", passed away Sunday, December 22, 2024, at Willowdale Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in New Holstein.
She was born February 9, 1930, in Malone, to Emil & Fidelia (Merten) Konen. Alice attended St. John the Baptist Catholic School in Johnsburg. On April 29, 1950, she married Robert Dreifuerst at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on August 25, 2003.
Alice worked at the former Foley Company in Chilton for many years until her retirement. Alice worked part time at Stell's Piggly Wiggly in New Holstein after retiring from Foley.
Alice was a member of Our Lady of the Holyland Parish-St. Mary's Site in Marytown. She also belonged to the Altar & Rosary Society and with the church's quilting club. She enjoyed playing bingo, cards, and doing puzzles.
Survivors include her four children, Pauline (Bob) Eldred of rural Elkhart Lake "St. Anna", Judy Flesch of Malone "Johnsburg", Diane "Fritz" Dreifuerst of rural New Holstein "Marytown", and John Dreifuerst of New Holstein; seven grandchildren, Kelly (Dan) Casper, Aaron Eldred, Jeremy Eldred, Vanessa Dreifuerst, Jason Rach, Cory (Megan) Flesch, and Scott Flesch; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; a sister, Mary Lou Bartelt of Fond du Lac. She is further survived by nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Emil & Fidelia Konen; her husband, Robert Dreifuerst; a daughter, Betty Rach; a son, Robert Dreifuerst Jr; a son-in-law, Ken Flesch; two grandsons; and a brother, Francis "Bud" (Julie) Konen.
Private services will take place. Alice will be laid to rest next to her husband, Robert in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Marytown.
Alice's family expresses their sincere appreciation to the staff members at Willowdale Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and Lakehouse Assisted Living in New Holstein. Also, to the caregivers of Compassus Hospice. Your care and compassion given to our mom and shown to us was greatly comforting.
Alice will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
