Alice M. Thome, age 90, of St. Anna, passed away peacefully Thursday evening, May 21, 2015, at the Calumet Medical Center with her family at her side. She was born May 14, 1925 in North Dakota to the late Arthur & Gertrude (Wirth) Schmitz. On May 3, 1948, she married Robert "Bob" V. Thome at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Jericho. Bob preceded her in death on September 11, 1999. Alice worked for many years at Schwarz's Supper Club in St. Anna. She also tended to the book keeping at the family's service station in St. Anna. She was an avid Packer fan and enjoyed attending her grandchildren's participation in sports; her grandchildren were the center of her life. Alice loved a good Old Fashioned cocktail and liked to play cards, especially sheepshead. Alice was a member of St. Anna Catholic Church in St. Anna. Survivors include her three children, Lavonne (David) Brandt of Moscow, TX, Wayne (Judith) Thome of St. Anna (rural New Holstein) and Robert "Bob" (Cheryl) Thome of St. Anna (rural Elkhart Lake); five grandchildren, Bradley (Alisha) Thome, Todd Thome, Megan Thome, Molly Thome and Michael Thome; Alice was waiting the arrival of her first great-granddaughter, Addison due this coming July. Alice is further survived by her brother, Leon Schmitz of Hilbert; a brother-in-law, Francis Thome of New Holstein; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, Arthur & Gertrude Schmitz; her husband, Robert "Bob" Thome; her sisters and brother, Bernice (Joe) Wick, Omer (Lee) Schmitz and Rita (Harry) Knap and a sister-in-law, Julia Thome. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at St. Anna Catholic Church, N188 School Street New Holstein, WI 53061 "St. Anna". Rev. Harold Berryman will officiate with Deacon Pat Knier assisting. Alice will be laid to rest next to her husband in the parish cemetery. Family and friends may greet the family at the church in St. Anna on Tuesday, May 26th from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in her name.
