Alma L. (Wendler) Haus, Giessel, Kelm, age 95, of New Holstein, passed away Friday, April 16, 2021, at Willowdale Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in New Holstein where she resided for the past four years. Alma was born July 11, 1925, in Wittenberg to Otto & Martha (Brunner) Wendler. She attended school in the Wittenberg area. On July 31, 1971, she married Roy Kelm. Alma had worked in housekeeping in her early years. She also worked at the former Leverenz Shoe Company in New Holstein. Alma loved to live the simple life. She loved to socialize and having pets was an important part of her life. Alma is survived by her husband of 49 years, Roy Kelm; her son, Keith Haus of Kiel; her grandchildren, Patricia (Scott) Sohrweide and their children Kayla & Alex, of Chilton, Jennifer (Derek) Gleim and their son, Noah, of Austin, TX, and Sara (Sam) Conrad and their children, Austin (Alina) and Isabella of Marytown; her sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Fern (Theodore) Lamers of Poplar, Boyd (Moreine) Kelm of Fond du Lac, and Florence Giessel of Bowler. She is further survived by many nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, Otto & Martha Wendler; her daughter-in-law, Helen Haus; her husbands, Lex Haus and James Giessel; her father-in-law & mother-in-law, Elmer & Edith Kelm; her six sisters, Leonora Schulz, Dora Spiegel, Sadie Thomek, Zela Schwartzkopf, Edna Gara, and Margaret Gutt; three brothers, Marvin Wendler, Milton Wendler, and Herman Wendler; and her sisters-in-law, Betsy Cook and Faye Morgan. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, April 22, 2021, at the Sippel Funeral Home, 2618 Altona Avenue, New Holstein, WI 53061. Alma will be laid to rest in the New Holstein City Cemetery.
