Obituary

Alvin "Al" A. Preissner, age 71, of Pipe, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2015, with his family at his side at St. Agnes Hospital following a short illness since March. Al was born January 28, 1944, in Jericho to the late Frank & Alvina (Weber) Preissner. He attended the "University of Jericho". On October 14, 1967, he married Evelyn Rieth at St. Anna Catholic Church in St. Anna. He had work at Rueping Leather in Fond du Lac and Tecumseh Engine Products in New Holstein for 36 years until his retirement. Al was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnsburg. He served on the Town of Calumet Fire Department for 30 years. Al belonged to the Pipe Fishing Club and the Great Lakes Fishing Club in Sheboygan. He was an avid gardener and truly enjoyed fishing. Al also loved to go to the "Adult Day Care Center" for senior citizens; the casinos. Survivors include his wife, Evie; three children, Dennis (Jill) Preissner of Kiel, Dan Preissner of Calumetville and Karie (Eric) Schmidt of Verona; six grandchildren, Kyle, Mikayla, Trent and Kendra Preissner, Madelyn and Zachary Schmidt; three brothers, Ronald, James and Robert Preissner; his in-laws, Lillian (Roger) Hansen and Gertie Rieth. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank & Alvina Preissner; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clem & Barbara Rieth; other in-laws, Arlene Preissner, Roseanne Preissner, Bernetta (Dave) Gilsdorf, Peggy (Dave) Horn and Orville Rieth. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, July 20, 2015 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnsburg (N9288 County Road W Fond du Lac, WI 54935). Rev. Larry Abler, OFM Cap. will officiate. Family and friends may call on the family on Sunday, July 19th from 3:00pm until 7:00pm at the Sippel Funeral Home 2618 Altona Avenue New Holstein, WI 53061. Visitation will also be at the church in Johnsburg Monday morning from 9:30am until the time of services. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home Sunday evening at 6:45pm.
