Ambrose H. Casper, age 81, of rural Chilton "Marytown" passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2014, at the Calumet Medical Center in Chilton. He was born August 24, 1932, on the Casper homestead the son of the late Joseph & Appolonia (Roehrig) Casper. Ambrose attended St. Mary's Catholic Grade School in Marytown. On June 5, 1954, he married Lorraine Stephany at St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Joe. He, along with his wife and family farmed the Casper homestead in the Town of Calumet. Ambrose enjoyed riding with his son, Allen on his cattle route and enjoyed fishing with his son, Ron. Ambrose cherished driving around his farm in his golf cart with his dog, Tina at his side. He also enjoyed visiting his daughter, Judy, at their farm near Hilbert. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Marytown where he served as a parish trustee. He was also a member of the Catholic Knights. Survivors include his wife, Lorraine; three children, Ron (Deb) Casper of Kiel, Judy (Ed) Mathes of Hilbert, and Allen (Carrie) Casper of Chilton "Marytown"; six grandchildren, Angela Casper (special friend, Ryan), Jewel (Mike) Scharenbroch, Mary Beth (Erick) Reynoso, Chad Mathes, Brad (Melissa) Mathes, Crystal (Chris) Lendved; three great-grandchildren, Lucas, Landon, and Grant; a sister-in-law, Caroline Stephany of Fond du Lac. Preceding him in death were his parents, Joseph & Appolonia Casper; three brothers; and five sisters. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 11, 2014, at St. Mary's Catholic Church N10232 County Road G New Holstein, WI 53061 "Marytown". Rev. Joseph Coerber will officiate. Inurnment will take place in the parish cemetery. Family and friends may call at the Sippel Funeral Home 2618 Altona Avenue New Holstein, WI 53061 on Monday, February 10th from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and again at the funeral home Tuesday morning from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM when brief rites will be held.
