Anna M. (Baus) Schaefer, age 87, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2020. She was born March 11, 1933, in the Town of Forest to Leo & Lucy (Loehr) Baus. Anna graduated from St. Mary's Springs Academy in 1951. Anna lived most of her life in Milwaukee working at Briggs & Stratton for 35 years. She enjoyed bowling and playing cards. Her faith and family were what she held most dearly. Following retirement, Anna moved back to Fond du Lac area and after her marriage to Joseph Schaefer on September 15, 2007, she and Joe spent their summer months here and wintertime was spent in Haines City, Florida. Anna's family will truly miss her joyfulness, her quick wit, and unconditional love. Survivors include her husband, Joe Schaefer; her four children, Wayne (Kim) Ziegelbauer, Dean (Sue) Ziegelbauer, Kevin Ziegelbauer, and Lisa (Jim) Sutton; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild; her brother, Tony (Lily Mae) Baus; and her sister, Ceil Petrie; her sisters-in-law, Rosemary Baus and Verna Welsch. She is further survived by nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends. In addition to her parents, Leo & Lucy Baus, she was preceded in death by first husband, Alphonse Ziegelbauer; her second husband, Bill Wergin; two brothers, Leo Baus and Jerome Baus; her brother-in-law, Francis Petrie. A Liturgy Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at St. Isidore Parish-Holy Cross Church, 308 S. County Road W, Mt. Calvary, WI 53057. Rev. Gary Wegner, OFM Cap will officiate. Visitation: Family and friends may visit with Anna's family at the church in Mt. Calvary on Tuesday morning, December 8th from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM. A memorial fund will be established in her name.
