Anna Mae V. (Wendel) Stemper, age 84, of New Holstein, passed away at Abridge Care Cottage in Chilton on Saturday, October 1, 2022.

Anna Mae was born February 10, 1938 to Edward & Martha (Schram) Wendel. On October 3, 1961, she married Gordon Stemper. Gordon preceded her in death on May 28, 2021.

Anna Mae & Gordon farmed on the Stemper family farm on Foundry Road in the Town of New Holstein before moving into New Holstein in 2006.

She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein for many years and a longstanding member of the Manitowoc County Homemakers for over 50 years. Anna Mae loved crocheting baby caps & bibs for preemie babies for a hospital in Ruskin, FL, Theda Care, and Ascension St. Elizabeth in Appleton. She was also a member of the bowling league in the 60's & 70's at the Beacon and playing cards in her card club was another pastime.

Survivors include her son, Alan Stemper of New Holstein; her daughter, Paula Stemper of Oak Creek; grandson, Adam (Megan) Stemper; great-granddaughter, Serenity; brother & sisters, Glenn Wendel of New Holstein, Arlene Schneider of Howards Grove, Joan (Tom) Hess of Athelstane, Lois (Steve) Arenz of Howards Grove. She is further survived by nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Gordon; her son, Greg; parents, Edward & Martha Wendel; and father-in-law & mother-in-law, Hugo & Isabel Stemper.

There will be no funeral as per her request. Cremation will take place with burial at a later date in the St. Ann Catholic Cemetery.
