Annette F. Mathes, age 95, of New Holstein, passed away Wednesday evening, June 18, 2014 at the Calumet Medical Center in Chilton.
The former Annette De Troye was born November 27, 1918 in Beaver Creek to the late Peter & Frances (Deierlein) De Troye.
Annette graduated from Kiel High School in 1936. On August 27, 1938 she married Raphael Mathes at Zion Lutheran Church in New Holstein, who preceeded her in death on July 29, 1991.
She worked at the Leverenz Shoe Company, Vollstedt Grocery, and was a Head Cook at the New Holstein High School until she retired in 1970. Annette was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in New Holstein, Fellowship Club, Altar Guild, and the Ladies Guild.
Survivors include her three daughters, Karen (Arthur) Wienke of Sioux Falls, SD, Kathleen Willmes of Lansing, Il, and Marilyn (Robert) Kerbs of Hampshire, Il; four grandchildren, Erick Wienke, Laura (Jesse) Yost, Brett Willmes, and Jason (Ladonna) Kerbs; four great-grandchildren, Flyn Yost, Ella Yost, Evelynn Kerbs, and Aiden Kerbs; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Peter & Frances (Deierlein) De Troye; her husband, Raphael Mathes; two brothers, Harley (Hilda) De Troye and Leonard (Delores) De Troye; and four sisters, Isabelle (Palmer) Lindow, Ione (Douglas) Alten, Lucille (George) Lodes, Luella Krebsbach Luehrs and husbands, Edmund Krebsbach and Richard Luehrs.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 12, 2014, at the Sippel Funeral Home 2618 Altona Avenue New Holstein, WI 53061. Rev. Azor Cigelske will preside. Inurnment will take place in the New Holstein Cemetery.
Family and friends may call at the Sippel Funeral Home in New Holstein on Saturday morning, July 12th from 10:00 AM until the time of services.
