Anthony "Tony" J. Thome, age 54, of Malone "Johnsburg" passed away unexpectedly Monday, December 27, 2021, at his home.
Tony was born March 25, 1967, to Elmer & Lorraine (Nitschke) Thome. He attended CPES Schools and graduated from New Holstein High School in 1985.
Tony drove semi for over 28 years. He began driving for several different trucking firms before becoming an owner/operator. He was a member of the Malone Area Heritage Museum and the Improved Order of Redmen in Johnsburg.
Survivors include his parents, Elmer & Lorraine Thome of Malone; his sister, Rose (Mark) Schmitz of Fond du Lac; his brothers, Donald (Julie) Thome of Malone, Larry (Jenny) Thome of Mount Calvary, and Tom (Tracey) Thome of Clinton, IA; his brother-in-law, Ron Gifford of Heber Springs, AR. He is further survived by nieces; nephews; aunts; uncles; other relatives; and friends.
Tony was preceded in death by his sister, Annette (Thome) Gifford; his maternal grandparents, Milton & Adeline Nitschke; paternal grandparents, Val & Marcella Thome; aunts; uncles; and cousins.
Visitation: family and friends may visit with Tony's family at the Sippel Funeral Home, 1311 Thorp Street, St. Cloud, WI 53079 on Sunday, January 23, 2022, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home at 4:00 PM.
Cremation has taken place. Burial will take place in the St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery.
"Tony had a genuine appreciation for life. He loved touring the country from the front seat of his semi with his trusty dog, Roscoe, by his side. Tony's upbeat personality and unique sense of humor will be greatly missed. May he rest in peace".
