Antonia Mary (Pauly) Sippel age 98, of rural Mount Calvary, died Sunday, December 7, 2014 at the Villa Loretto Nursing Home.
The former Antonia Pauly was born April 7, 1916 in rural St. Cloud, Wisconsin the daughter of Anton and Mary (Lefeber) Pauly.
She graduated from St. Claudius School, St. Cloud.
She married Leo Albert Sippel at St Claudius Church, St. Cloud on Nov. 15, 1938. The couple farmed in the Town of Marshfield near Mount Calvary.
Antonia was a member of St. Isidore Parish-Holy Cross Church in Mount Calvary and the Christian Women's Society. She also was a member of the Mount Calvary Legion Auxiliary. Antonia volunteered at the Villa Loretto Nursing Home where she was a former member of the Villa Loretto Auxiliary. She was involved as a charter member of the Fond du Lac area ARC. She was a former 4-H Leader and a "Monday Morning" quilter with other ladies of the area.
Survivors include her seven children, Jerry (Mary) Sippel, Mary (David) Andrew, Edith (Stanley) Birschbach, and Alice (Donald) Runge of Fond du Lac, JoAnn (Gerald) Halbach of Marytown, John (Marlene) Sippel of Mt. Calvary, and Ginny (David) Schmitz of Malone; 31 grandchildren: Dan and (Debbie) Sippel, Debra and (Craig) Maedke, Janice and (Ed) Koffman, Allan and (Rebecca) Andrew, Michael and (Tina) Andrew, Terese and (Steve) Hubbard, Kristin and (Marty) Hoffman, Brian and (Edita) Birschbach, Jill and (Paul) Sanchez, Ann and (Marc) Edmunds, Brett and (Sheri) Birschbach, Staci and (Jay) Salzmann, Tim and (Teresa) Halbach, Amy and (Terry) Criter, Julie and (Tom) Antholine, Jason and (Danielle) Halbach, Eric and (Loree) Halbach, Mathew and (Angie) Halbach, Allison and (Marc) Frowein , Sara and (Kevin)Zwicky, Katie and (Garrett) Jesko, Ed Sippel, Mark Sippel, Carrie and (Brad Schwoerer) Stephanie and (Jimmy) Olive, Ryan and (Erin) Schmitz, Bill and (Kelli) Schmitz, Tony and (Laura) Runge, Colleen and (Benny) Schulteis, Sheila and (Steven) Spaulding, Emily and (Jeremiah) Tetzlaff, and 45 great grandchildren; her sister, Marina Voelker; sister-in-law Bernetta Pauly; and brother-in-law Victor Sippel (special friend Ellie) and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her husband Leo Albert Sippel on February 26, 1993; a daughter Carol Jean Sippel; and her parents, Anton and Mary Pauly; her sisters, Polly (Ernest) Sippel, Delia (William) Lauby, and Christina (Ben) Burg; her brothers, Michael (Ruth) Pauly, Ervin (Mildred) Pauly, Sylvester Pauly; her father-in-law Joseph Sippel and mother-in-law Mathilda (Langen) Sippel; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Julius (Marge) Sippel, Emma (Alfred) Diedrich, Marie (Frank) Abler, Bernard (Dorothy) Sippel, Agnes (Ben) Bittner, Leander (Hortense) Sippel, Carl (Marian) Sippel, Joseph (Clara Mae), Anna Mae Sippel, and Francis (Rose) Sippel, Alfred Voelker.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 PM on Saturday, December 13, 2014, at St. Isidore Parish-Holy Cross Church, 308 County Road W, Mount Calvary, WI 53057. Rev. Gary Wegner OFM Cap. will officiate. Antonia will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Mount Calvary.
Family and friends may call at the St. Isidore Parish-Holy Cross Church on Friday, December 12th from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and again at the church Saturday morning from 12:00 noon until 1:15 PM.
A Prayer service will be held at the church Friday evening at 8:00 PM.
A memorial will be established in her name.
