Arlyn Oscar Bord passed away peacefully, January 29, 2015, at the Villa Loretto Nursing Home in Mt Calvary where he had resided for the past 3 years. Arlyn was born December 11, 1929, to Ambrose & Helen (Brenner) Bord in Mt. Calvary. On August 18, 1953, he married Frances Schmitz in Johnsburg WI. They lived and farmed on Cody Road till they moved to Fond du Lac. Through the years Arlyn helped people with many other odd jobs, including masonry, electrical work, plumbing to name a few. Together Arlyn & Frances enjoyed traveling, bowling, playing cards and rummaging. Arlyn was especially fond of a good "free box". Arlyn also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Arlyn was a member of Holy Family Parish of Fond du Lac. Also he was a 62 year member of the Abler-Engel 454 Legion post of Mt. Calvary. He belonged to the Eagles and several other clubs. Arlyn is survived by his daughters, Mary (Joe) Buechel of St. Peter, Lu Ann (Joe) Meyer of Johnsburg; also by his five sons, Joe (Mary) Bord, John (Jeanne) Bord, Jeff (Kathy) Bord of Mt. Calvary, Jerome (Linda) Bord of Johnsburg, and Jean Bord (Doug Pire) of Oshkosh; his grandchildren, Jason Buechel, Jenny & Mark Hetzel, Nick Buechel & Kavita Naik, Danny (Stacy Schmitz) Buechel , Megan Buechel, Michelle & Scott Schimmel, Kelly & Jason Ferguson, Jackie & Derek Moran, Denise Bord, Sarah Bord, Stacy (Heather Mielke) Bord, Christopher Bord, Scott & Denise Meyer, Kimberly (Steven Puckett) Meyer, Jake Bord, and Jeremy Bord; his great-grandchildren, Garret & Ethan Hetzel, Brahm Buechel, Brayden & Madelyn Schimmel, Jackson Ferguson, Nick, Landon & Elliott Moran, Aaron & Alyssa Meyer. Arlyn is also survived by a brother & sister in law Gerald & Nina Bord of Mt. Calvary, and a sister-in-law, RoseMary Schmitz of Villa Rosa in Mt. Calvary. He also survived by many nieces & nephews and other relatives, as well as many close friends. Arlyn was preceded in death by his wife, Frances on December 19, 2011; his parents Ambrose & Helen Bord; father-in-law & mother in law, Joseph & Margaret Schmitz; brothers-in-law and sisters in-law, Leona & Alex Schmitz, Lorraine & Gregor Pickart, John Schmitz, Esther & Regis Sippel. A Memorial Mass will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, February 5, 2015, at Holy Family Parish Church, 271 Fourth Street Way Fond du Lac, WI 54935. Inurnment will be at the Shrine of Rest Chapel Mausoleum in Fond du Lac. Visitation: Family and friends may call at the church in Fond du Lac on Thursday, February 5th from 3:00 PM to 6:30 PM.
