Audrey "Mae" Stecker

Audrey Mae Stecker, Mae , age 83, of Hilbert, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Mae was born on May 10, 1928 in the town of Schleswig, Manitowoc County, daughter of the late Louis and Viola Bunge. On August 16, 1947, she married Wilbert Willie Stecker Sr. in Hilbert. He preceded her in death on April 12, 2010. Before their marriage, Mae worked at the Red Raven Inn as a waitress. After their marriage, she raised their 11 children and worked on the family farm. Mae also enjoyed gardening, quilting, dancing, and especially spending time with her family. She was a member of Peace Evangelical and Reformed Church, Potter. Survivors include her children and their spouses: Dianna (Jared) Huber, Appleton, Nelda (Gary) Mueller, Jericho, Marcia (Steven) Allen, Green Bay, Keith (Janet) Stecker, Hilbert, Marc (Mary) Stecker, Hilbert, Peggy (Howard) Martin, Hilbert, Connie (Dennis) Gutsmiedl, Oshkosh, Vanessa (Jeff) Wagner, Appleton, Wilbert Jr. Will (Lynn) Stecker, Greenleaf, Dana (Stacy) Stecker, De Pere, and Trisha (Daryl) Ticknor, Hilbert, 35 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Herman Jr. (Audrey) Stecker, Potter, Ambrose Lisowe, Chilton, Marianne (Clarence) Buechel, Hilbert, Marilyn (Allen) Stache, Hilbert, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son Roy, a sister and brother-in-law: Carmen (Norbert Mike ) Brandenburg, two brothers: Edgar and Roy Bunge, mother-in-law and father-in-law: Herman Sr. and Norma Stecker, and other in-laws. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at Peace Evangelical & Reformed Church, Potter. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Dr. Marc Axelrod with burial to follow at Brillion Community Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Thursday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. Online condolences may be made at www.wieting-funeralhome.com. The Wieting Funeral Home in Brillion is assisting the family with arrangements. The family would like to thank Chris, the county nurse and the ResCare ladies who provided compassionate care to Mom.
