Barbara I. Forstner, age 79, of New Holstein, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 4, 2017. The former Barbara Spletter was born April 17, 1937, at the Chilton Memorial Hospital to the late Paul & Esther (Hintz) Spletter. She attended New Holstein Public Schools and graduated from New Holstein High School in 1955. On May 17, 1958, she married Ronald Forstner at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Holstein. Barb had worked at the former Scholz Pharmacy later known as the Apothecary Shop in New Holstein for 40+ years. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in New Holstein. Barb was a Girl Scout Troop Leader in New Holstein for many years; she also served as treasurer for the Manitou Council. Barb was very active in the City of New Holstein; having served on the Park & Rec. Committee for many years, avid supporter of the New Holstein Fire Dept. and the New Holstein First Responders. Barb had belonged to the Ladies Thursday Night Bowling League at the Beacon in New Holstein. She also enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially at their cottage. Family meant the most to Barb; she truly cherished her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Ron; three daughters, Lori Mueller (special friend, David Wood) of Fond du Lac, Ann (Steve) Bartel of Fond du Lac and Linda (Chuck) Konen of Malone "St. Peter"; six grandchildren, Mesha (Josh) Abler, Kyle Price, Joe Bartel (fiance', Kayla), Kristin Bartel, Brad (Cassie) Konen and Kayla Konen (special friend, Danny); eight great-grandchildren, Trenton, Ethan, Owen, Beckhem, Mya, Rylan, Gracyn & Aubryn; her sisters, Doris Powell, Shirley Blade and Sandra (Edwin) Cunningham; her brothers, Donald Spletter, Elroy Spletter and Lee (Cheri) Spletter; her sisters-in-law, Mary Jo Spletter, Mae (Leo) Gibertini and Lula Forstner. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, Paul & Esther Spletter; her brother, Paul Spletter and three sisters, Marion Bowe, Margery Rozman and Maryjane Spletter. Barb was also preceded in death by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 7, 2017, at Zion Lutheran Church, 1702 Van Buren Street New Holstein, WI 53061. Rev. Azor Cigelske will officiate. Burial will take place at a later date this summer at the Countryview Cemetery in the Town of New Holstein.
