Bernard "Bernie" Brenner, age 72, of Mount Calvary, passed away unexpectedly at his home on the Brenner homestead, Monday, December 4, 2023.
He was born March 20, 1951, to the late Anthony "Tony" & Mildred (Wirth) Brenner. Bernie attended Holy Cross Catholic Grade School and graduated from New Holstein High School in 1969.
On May 12, 1973, he married Linda Immel at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Dotyville. Linda preceded him in death on March 12, 2017.
In addition to helping his father farm, Bernie was a co-owner of B & B Insulation and retired after working many years at Bremer Mfg in St. Anna.
He was a retired member of the Mt. Calvary Volunteer Fire Department. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing softball, golfing, traveling to Florida, bowling, and gambling which he continued into his later years. He also liked to go to Blanck's Supper Club with his in-laws for their monthly birthday celebrations and working on endless projects with his buddy, Chip. Bernie was an avid sports fan of the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers, and Wisconsin Badgers. He loved to attend his granddaughter, Jahara, nieces, & nephews sporting events, but he most enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters, Jahara & Harper.
Bernie is survived by his two daughters, Nicole (Marcus) Wiegert and their daughter, Harper and Melissa "Missy" Brenner and her daughter, Jahara; his brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law; numerous nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Linda; his parents, Tony & Mildred Brenner; his sister, Mary Brenner; his father-in-law & mother-in-law, Gordon Sr. & Alice Immel; sisters-in-law; and brothers-in-law.
Funeral Service will be held at 9:30 AM on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at the Sippel Funeral Home 1311 Thorp Street, St. Cloud, WI 53079. Rev. Paul Koenig, OFM Cap will preside. Bernie will be laid to rest next to his wife, Linda, in the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Mt. Calvary.
Visitation: Family and friends may visit with Bernie's family at the Sippel Funeral Home on Friday, December 8th from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM and visitation will be at the funeral home Saturday morning, December 9th from 8:30 AM until 9:30 AM.
