Carl Riemer

Carl H. Riemer, age 87, of 328 Homewood Dr. Brillion, died at his home on Sunday, November 17, 2013. He was born on July 4, 1926 on the family farm on Bullhead Lake, son of the late Henry C. and Norma (Beer) Riemer. On August 30, 1952 Carl married Dorothy Hartz in Potter. Carl and Dorothy helped farm the family homestead and he also worked as a mechanic at Saunders Leasing in Brillion. He was a very talented mechanic and could fix almost anything. He also enjoyed playing his button accordion and entertaining at various nursing homes in the area. He was a lifetime and active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Rantoul. He was a faithful member of the Mens Choir for over 60 years, served for 6 years as the Church Chairman, and 9 years in various treasurer duties. He read the Portals of Prayer and his Bible daily for many years. Survivors include his wife Dorothy, 2 sons, Robert of Brillion and Randall of Mineral Point, a sister Lavonne Riemer of Benedict, NE along with cousins, neighbors and friends. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Harvey (Janice) Hartz and Harold (Delores) Hartz. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 20th at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rantoul. The Rev. Timothy Benninghoff will officiate. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery.
