Obituary

Carol Jane (Vice) Grube, 74, passed away at her home on Thursday September 11, 2025. Carol was born on December 18, 1950, and was the youngest daughter of the late Irvin and Leone (Holzchuh) Vice.

Carol grew up in Appleton and settled in Chilton, WI where her father was the Sheriff of Calumet County. She met her husband Russell Grube in Chilton they married and had three sons Chad, Christopher, and Jason. Carol went to school at Fox Valley Tech for respiratory therapy. She worked at Appleton Medical Center for many years in the ER and on the hospital floor. Carol also worked for Walmart in a traveling capacity and finished her career working for Tractor Supply Company.

Carol loved animals and was always collecting rescue dogs that she brought home and loved. Carol loved camping and traveling. On her weekends she spent with friends and family at her trailer at Plymouth Rock in the summers for over 30 years. She loved all the friends that she made at Plymouth Rock and even worked there part-time for years.

Carol enjoyed hearing about all the things her grandkids were doing and enjoyed spending time with them. She looked forward to her granddaughter, Gabby, coming out and spending time at the trailer in the summer. Carol was very proud of her children and grandchildren.

Carol lost her husband Russell after twenty-six years of marriage. Years later Carol found love and companionship with Patrick McGrady. She added Patrick's children Kellie McGinn, Tricia Willis, and Kris Tarello to her family.

Carol is survived by her three sons: Chad (Alicia) Grube, Christopher (Jessica) Grube, and Jason (Kathleen) Grube. She is further survived by her grandchildren: Emily, Haley, Austin, Logan, Katriana, Gabriella (Caleb) and Russell. She is also survived by her sister Patricia LaCount and her brother Dennis Vice; nephew Timothy (Monica) Vice and great nephew Ryan Vice. Also survived by her stepdaughters Kellie, Tricia, and Kris and Carol's six step grandchildren, Kaleigh, Robert, Kodee, Desarae, Gianni, and Dante.

A Celebration of Carol's Life will be held on Sept. 21, 2025, at the Eagles Club-Banquet Hall 104 E. Chestnut St Chilton, WI 53014 from 12 pm to 4 pm. Snacks, beer, soda, and desserts will be provided.
