Carolyn Reese, age 55, of 420 Valley View Dr., Brillion, died on Tue. April 27, 2010 at her home, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on Aug. 8, 1954 in Elgin, IL, daughter of the late Leander & Florica (Horgas) Christenson. She graduated from Dundee Community High School and later married Larry Reese in November of 1976. Carolyn and Larry operated a Dairy Queen store in Elgin for 3 years before moving to Brillion. Carolyn then worked for the Michiels Family Business Enterprises for 30 years. In 1979 she began working at Michiels Brillion Inn and in 1986 she became the evening manager at Michiels Fox Banquets & Rivertyme Catering in Appleton until 2009. Carolyn was also very active in the Brillion Jaycees. She was the first female to serve as president in 1986-1987 and received many awards, including the Elsie Daggett Award, the Jaycee Womens highest award for community service. Survivors include her husband Larry, a twin sister Marilyn Holt of Lake in the Hills, IL, a sister Lana Christenson of Las Vegas, NV and many other relatives and friends. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents. A memorial service will be held on Wed. May 12 at 11:00 a.m. at the Wieting Funeral Home in Brillion. Pastoral Minister Rita Heraly will officiate.
