Cecelia Mary Lagacy, age 88, formerly of Glenbeulah, was born into eternal life surrounded by her loving family and caring angels on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2015, at the Plymouth Care Center where she had resided the last three years.
Cecelia was born on December 8, 1926, to the Edward and Hilda (Ditter) O'Malley on the family farm she loved so much in the Town of Greenbush.
She attended St. Cloud Catholic Grade School and graduated from Glenbeulah High School in 1945. After graduation, she held various jobs helping families raise their children and it prepared her to become the perfect farmer's wife and mother.
On September 3, 1955, she married the love of her life, Lawrence (Larry) Lagacy at St. Cloud Catholic Church. She moved and farmed with her husband on his parent's farm in Momence, IL for the next 22 years. In addition to working on the farm and being a great mom she also did various housekeeping jobs for private and local businesses in Momence, IL. In 1977 they moved back to her parent's beloved farm in Greenbush, WI.
Cecelia worked for 13 years in housekeeping at the Valley View Medical Center and Senior Apartments. She also took care of her parents as well as doing many private housekeeping jobs. She will always be remembered for being a hard worker and having the sweetest smile to brighten every-ones day.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth, WI and a former member of St. Isidore Parish-St. Cloud Church in St. Cloud, WI.
Cecelia is survived by her loving children, June (Richard) Miller of Plymouth and William (Elizabeth) Lagacy of Glenbeulah; two grandchildren, Ann (Mat) Bunke of Glenbeulah, WI and their children, Jack, Katelyn, Cole and Emmalee and Jason (Sarah) Voss of Campbellsport, WI and their children, Alexander and Layla. She is further survived by her nephew, Robert Lagacy of Kankakee, IL; her sister-in-law, Josephine Du Bois of Urbana, IL and many dear nieces, nephews, other relatives and family.
Cecelia was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Lawrence (Larry); parents, Edward & Hilda O'Malley of Greenbush, WI; three great-grandchildren, Jasmine & Joslin Voss and Owen Bunke; her sister, Ruth O'Malley; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Louis & Lillie Lagacy of Momence, IL; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Rose Lagacy, Phillip Lagacy, Isola (Louis) Boudreau, Maria (Paul) Longtin, Geroge (Angela) Lagacy, Henry (Edna) Lagacy, Marguerite (Francis) Longtin, Cecelia (Robert) Yost and Joseph Du Bois.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 11, 2015, at St. Isidore Parish-St. Cloud Church, 924 Main Street St. Cloud, WI 53079. Rev. Larry Abler, OFM Cap. will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Cloud Catholic Cemetery.
Family and friends may greet the family at the church in St. Cloud on Saturday, April 11th from 11:00 AM to 12:45 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for Heartland Hospice, St. Vincent De Paul or to Meals on Wheels.
