Charles Bain, age 88, of Brillion, passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at Little Chute Health Services.
Charles was born on August 18, 1934 in Iron River, MI, son of the late Alexander and Estelle (Born) Bain. He was a graduate of Iron River High School. On May 14, 1955 he married the former Patricia A. Looney in Iron River, MI. She preceded him in death on October 28, 2012. Charles served in the United States Navy and later worked as a service parts manager at Ariens in Brillion until his retirement. He was a member of the American Legion Post #126 of Brillion for 50 years, the Green Bay Accordion Club, the 40&8 club, and was also a leader for local Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts troops. Charles enjoyed bowling, golf, gardening, accordion music (listening to and playing), target shooting and also enjoyed watching the Packers, Brewers, Bucks and Badgers.
Survivors include his children: Barb (Dan) Peterson, New London, Steve (Sarka) Bain, New Berlin; three grandchildren: Jasmine, Jesse (special friend Julie Ulrich) and Sarah (Steve) Gasper; seven great grandchildren: Brynn, Michael, Samuel, Shawn, Oscar, Seth and Scarlett. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one daughter: Julie Chapman; one sister: Susan Bain; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Walter and Marjorie Looney, and special friends: Donna Poye and Delores Dinny.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Peace United Church of Christ in Brillion. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Nancy Zorn Micke with burial to take place at Community Cemetery in Brillion at a later date.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m.
