Charlotte I. "Petie" Shaver, age 86, of Kiel, passed away surrounded by her family on Tuesday, September 2, 2014, at her home. The former Charlotte Wendel was born February 19, 1928, to the late Charles & Adela (Franzen) Wendel. She graduated from New Holstein High School in 1946. On June 18, 1949, she married John "Jack" Shaver Jr. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein. Jack preceded her in death on February 3, 2002. Petie was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein. She volunteered at the St. Vincent DePaul Society in Kiel and the Salvatorian Mission Warehouse in New Holstein. Survivors include her daughters, Bonnie (John) Abler of Kiel and Mary Jo (Joe) Muellenbach of New Holstein; her sons, Chuck (Deb) Shaver of Chilton, Mark (Jeanne) Kuba of New Holstein, and Bruce Kuba and his special friend, Holly, of Adams, WI; a daughter-in-law, Donna Kuba of Chilton; 22 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Alice (Alfred) Zeller of Green Bay and Shirley Pickren of San Angelo, TX; her brother, David (Cynthia) Wendel of Eau Claire; her brother-in-law, Louis Presto, of Kiel; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, Charles & Adela Wendel; her husband, Jack Shaver; sons, John James Shaver and Richard Kuba; her sister, Doris Presto; and an infant brother. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 6, 2014, at the Sippel Funeral Home 2618 Altona Avenue New Holstein, WI 53061. Deacon Pat Knier will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Holy Rosary Cemetery in New Holstein. A gathering of family and friends will take place at the Sippel Funeral Home on Saturday morning, September 6th from 9:00 AM until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Petie's name may be directed to the family for the Sharon S. Richardson Hospice.
