Obituary

Claudette M. (Gullickson) Pittl, age 90, of New Holstein, passed away with family at her side on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at the Homestead Care Center in New Holstein.

She was born May 19, 1934, in Neenah to Harold & Josephine (Reynders) Gullickson. Claudette graduated from Neenah High School and received her RN nursing degree from St. Agnes School of Nursing in Fond du Lac.

It was in Fond du Lac where Claudette met Frank Pittl and were married on April 28, 1962. They put their roots down in New Holstein where they raised three daughters. Claudette worked at the former Calumet Homestead Nursing Home in New Holstein until her retirement, touching the lives and hearts of many residents and their families with her kind and compassionate care. Retirement was spent at "the lake" in Saxeville, WI, where they enjoyed nature and lots of family time. Frank preceded her in death on November 26, 2019.

Her greatest joy was being Grandma to her eight grandchildren and "Grandma Great" to her seven great grandchildren. She was a loving and tireless giver and will be greatly missed by family and friends.

She is survived by her three daughters, Elisabeth Meyer (Rick Ellenson) of New Holstein, Jenifer Pittl of Brillion, and Mary (Glen) Groeschel of Malone; eight grandchildren, Katie (Matthew) Lichtenberg, Dustin (Lindsay) Meyer, Timothy (Amy) Meyer, and Meghan (Alex) Sucharda, Alex Nowak, Alijah Nowak, Matt Groeschel, and Anna Groeschel; seven great-grandchildren; her sisters, Shirley Zielinski, Janice Paul, Sue Giebel, Mary Jo (Bill) Ruttenberg, and Barb (Don) Wittmann; brothers-in-law, Marty Pavich and Ron Sprenger. Claudette is further survived by nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Harold & Josephine Gullickson; her husband, Frank Pittl; three sisters, Carol Manley, Julie Sprenger, and Catherine Pavich; and brothers-in-law Tom Manley, Jimmy Zielinski, David Paul, Tom Sahotsky, Neal Pittl, Mark (Carol) Pittl, and David (Alice) Pittl.
