Obituary

After a long, five-year fight with cancer, Cody Waldschmidt, 28, has passed away on Friday, May 12, 2023, in his home surrounded by family. He was born August 21, 1994, in Fond du Lac, WI.

Cody graduated from New Holstein High School in 2013 and then received an Associate's Degree in Agricultural Equipment Technology from Madison Area Technical College in 2015. He has worked at Riesterer and Schnell since his junior year of high school.

Cody loved to work. His favorite pastime was wrenching and farming, especially with his dad. He enjoyed taking the dog for walks and watching sunsets. He loved to mess around on an ATV, snowmobile, old Chevy trucks, or anything of that sorts. He was the most amazing brother, son, and friend.

Cody is survived by his parents, Lorn and Kristine Waldschmidt, and his sister, Aubrey Waldschmidt. As well as his grandparents Richard Kastning (special friend, Marta Rake) and Myrtle Waldschmidt, and his aunts and uncles, Laura Karls (Brent), Matthew Kastning (Ashley), Joe Waldschmidt (Cathy), Shirley Immel, Peg Waldschmidt, Jim Waldschmidt, Jerome Jr Waldschmidt (Jess), and Connie Wojkiewicz (Ron), and many cousins and extended family.

He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary Kastning, his grandfather, Jerome Waldschmidt, his aunts Amy Kastning and Theresa Waldschmidt, and his uncle Scott Immel.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, May 19, 2023, at the Sippel Funeral Home, 2618 Altona Avenue, New Holstein, WI 53061. Cody will be laid to rest in the Rothmann Cemetery in Garnet.
