Colette E. Davis DeWitt, Michigan (Formerly of New Holstein, WI) Colette E. Davis, 88, passed away Sunday, June 8, 2014. She was born April 8, 1926 to Theodore and Viola (Kollath) Meyers in Milwaukee, WI. She married Jimmie Davis on August 4, 1956 in Red Wing, MN. Colette was preceded in death by Jimmie in 1975. Also preceding her in death are her parents; brothers Clifford (Dorothy) and Rodney Meyers; sister, Eileen (Harvey) Ehnert; and nephew, Dale Ehnert. Surviving to cherish Colette's memory are her son, Jim (Susan) Davis; 4 grandchildren, Catherine Davis, Jill Davis, Michael Davis, and Julie Davis; and niece, Bonnie (James) Vorpahl. Colette started a volunteer group, the Schavey Road Senior Volunteers, at Schavey Road Elementary School in DeWitt, where she volunteered for 23 years. She is a former member of the Wacousta Order of the Eastern Star and is a member of Redeemer United Methodist Church. Colette volunteered in many activities at the church. She greatly enjoyed her grandchildren's sports activities. She never missed their swim meets, soccer games, or tennis matches. Colette also enjoyed reading, and vacationing with her family each year at their cabin. Colette also worked for 15 years at the M-B Corporation in New Holstein, WI and then for 26 years at New Holstein Elementary School as a teacher's aide. A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 11:00 am at St. John United Church of Christ, 2111 Church St., New Holstein, WI 53061, with visitation from 9:30 am until the time of service. Burial will take place immediately following the service at the New Holstein City Cemetery.
