Cyril J. "CJ" Ausloos, age 86, of Mount Calvary, formerly of St. Cloud, passed away with his family at his side Saturday, June 1, 2013, at the Villa Loretto in Mount Calvary.
He was born May 2, 1927, in Kohler, WI to the late Joseph P. & Leona (Gross) Ausloos. His mother passed away eight days after his birth and he was raised by his maternal grandparents until the age of nine. He then moved back to St. Cloud and lived with his father, Joseph, and step-mother, Lucilla (Dietz) Ausloos.
CJ served in the Navy aboard the USS Maryland during the end of World War 2. On June 10, 1952, he married Phyllis Abler at St. Cloud Catholic Church.
CJ had managed the Standard Oil Station in Mount Calvary, CJ's Bar in St. Cloud, and worked as a salesman at Feldner Chevrolet in St. Cloud. In 1978 he became a part owner and manager of the Cabaret in St. Cloud until his retirement.
He was a member of St. Isidore Parish – St. Cloud Church and the St. Cloud American Legion Harvey Blonigen Post 478. He was a former member of the Wisconsin Restaurant Association.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis, of Mount Calvary; his seven children, Tim (Ruth) Ausloos of Fond du Lac, Bob (Pat) Ausloos of New Holstein, John (Dianne) Ausloos of Mount Calvary, Cheryl (Terry) Schrage of Fond du Lac, Mark (Cindy) Ausloos of Plymouth, Cathy (Tom) Swatek of Lyndon Station, WI, and Chris (David) Daub of Asheville, NC; 14 grandchildren, Clark, Eric (Mindy), Casey (Kristin), Katie (Wes), Kari, Tara, Carly, Kyle, Abby, Breia, Alyssa, Stacey, Hailey, and Philip; five great-grandchildren, Caleb, Chloe, Brady, Olivia, and Hadley; his sister, Pat (Bill) Will of St. Cloud; two brothers, Tom Ausloos of Crivitz and Robert (Peggy) Ausloos of St. Germaine. He is further survived by his in-laws; nieces; nephews, other relatives; and many friends.
Preceding him in death were his father and mother, Joseph P. & Leona Ausloos, and his step-mother, Lucilla (Dietz) Ausloos.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 4:30 PM on Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at St. Isidore Parish – St. Cloud Church 924 Main Street in St. Cloud. Rev. Gary Wegner OFM Cap. will officiate. Burial with Military Honors will take place in the St. Cloud Catholic Cemetery.
Family and friends may call at the Sippel Funeral Home 1311 Thorp Street in St. Cloud on Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 – 4:00 PM when brief rites will be held.
A memorial fund will be established in his name.
