Obituary

Cyril A. Niquette, 93, of New Holstein, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 3, 2017, at his home. He was born November 22, 1923, in Lena, Wisconsin to Gilbert & Laura (Ausloos) Niquette. Cyril graduated from New Holstein High School in 1941. He served in the US Army Corps of Engineers during World War II; both in the European and Asian Theaters. On November 27, 1946, he married Cyrilla Becker in Kiel, WI. They were married for 70 years. Cyril was the office manager at the former HC Timm Co.; now currently Calumet Feeds. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein, Holy Name Society, and a 70 year member of the New Holstein American Legion Post 124; he held the office of Adjutant, Chaplain, Service Officer, and served with the Honor Guard for over 50 years. Cyril was honored to be able to travel to Washington DC with the "Old Glory" Honor Flight to visit the World War II Memorial. Survivors include his wife, Cyrilla; his five children, Patricia (Allen) Valkie of the South Pacific, Charles (Elayne) Niquette of New Holstein, Daniel (Sharron) Niquette of Cleveland, WI, David Niquette of Kiel, and Linda (Al) Felsinger of New Holstein; his grandchildren, Melissa Kimme, Jason Eiring, Ian Niquette, Nicole Buechel, Amanda Kremply, Adam Niquette, Angie Wegmann, Tony Niquette, Trisha Niquette, Joshua Reinl, Justin Reinl, and Erin Reinl; step grandchildren, Tim Champeau, Angie Mertens, Tyler Guell, and Heidi Felsinger; great-grandchildren, Erika Pfeifer, Brooklyn Kimme, Evie Eiring, Mable Eiring, Sawyer Niquette, Adeline Buechel, Mason Buechel, Landon Buechel, Garver Buechel, Laney Buechel, Thomas Kremply, Myra Kremply, Mason Wegmann, and Aaron Wegmann. He is further survived by 20 step great-grandchildren; his sisters, Lois (Fred) Drake and Joanne (Courtney) Ter Horst; in-laws, Bernice Reineck, Delores Becker, and Geraldine Hollenbeck, Stanley (Lynn) Becker, Joanne Niquette; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends. Cyril was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Warren Niquette in 2011; a daughter, Debra Niquette in 2008; his brother, Paul Niquette; his sister, Eileen Niquette; and brothers-in-law, Elroy Becker, Eugene Reineck, and Gerry Hollenbeck. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 6:00 PM on Thursday, June 8, 2017, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1724 Madison Street, New Holstein, WI 53061. Military Rites conducted by State Military Honors in conjunction with the New Holstein American Legion Post 124 will follow at the church. Cyril will be laid to rest in the Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation: Family and friends may call at the Holy Rosary Church on Thursday, June 8th from 3:00 PM until 5:30 PM.
