Daniel J. Seichter, 86, passed away on December 10, 2020, at Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac, from Parkinson's. He was born in Brothertown, Wisconsin, on March 18, 1934, to Martin and Helen (Schneider) Seichter. Dan was a graduate of the 1952 class of New Holstein High School. Upon graduation, Dan enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp. "Once a Marine, always a Marine" was his motto. Dan earned his degree at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, in 1961. He was employed by Giddings & Lewis Machine Tool Company over 30 years; retiring as the Manager of Engineering Division in 1995. He married Joan Turgeon Zander on March 16, 1982. Dan loved hunting, fishing and trapshooting, sponsoring Dan's Gunners team for many years in the New Holstein/Kiel area. He was a life member of Kiel Sportsmen Club, Outdoors (New Holstein) and Forest Gun Club, Fond du Lac. Dan is also a member of the American Legion, Post 124, New Holstein. Dan is survived by his wife, Joan, of 38 years; stepchildren, Daniel Zander and Debra Zander Rotstein; grandchildren, Tyler Rotstein and Tarra Rotstein. He was a very caring husband and a fabulous dad and grandfather. He was extremely generous and will be missed by all who knew him. He is further survived by his brother, Jerome (Mary Jane) Seichter; his sister, Mary Ann Seichter; sister-in-law, Janet Seichter; brother-in-law, Vernon Vogel; and many nieces and nephews. Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Helen Seichter, and brothers, Ralph Seichter and Gordon Seichter, and one sister, Janice Seichter Vogel. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2021 from 1-4:00 PM at the Kiel Fish and Game Club, 22721 Fish and Game road Kiel, WI 53042. Military Honors will be performed at 1:30 PM.
