Darlaine (Darlene) J. Wittmus, was called home by our Lord Jesus Christ on September 16, 2026 after a long battle with cancer at the age of 79.

Darlene was born on May 6, 1947, daughter of the late Melvin and Irma Hamann. She was a graduate of Sheboygan North High School in 1965. Darlene married Wayne W. Wittmus on January 9, 1966. In 1992 Darlene graduated from Lakeshore College with an associate degree in Materials Management with honors.

Darlene was a proud Green Bay Packers fan and enjoyed cheering on her team whenever she had the chance. She especially loved hosting holiday gatherings for family and friends, with Christmas being a favorite time of year. She had a special talent for decorating and could turn a Christmas tree into a true work of art, filling her home with warmth and holiday spirit.

When the weather was nice, Darlene found great joy in spending time in her garden. Her home and sunroom were filled with all her special plants. She took pride in caring for her plants, nurturing them with patience and love. Her motto was “You can never have too many plants”. Gardening gave her another opportunity to enjoy the simple pleasures of life and the beauty that surrounded her.

She is survived by her two children: Jan Wittmus and David Wittmus; two grandchildren: Aaron Wittmus and Megan Wittmus; she is also survived by other relatives and friends. Darlene was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.

Per Darlene’s and the family's wishes, a private service will be held.
