David John Hoyer, age 46, of 21107 Man-Cal Road, Reedsville, passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2013 as a result of an accident. Dave was born on December 8, 1966 in Green Bay, son of William "Bill" & Germaine (Schuh) Hoyer. He was a graduate of Reedsville High School, class of 1985. On June 26, 1998 Dave married Connie (Thiel) Lund at Peace Lutheran Church in Oshkosh. He was a lifelong farmer and partner of Hoyer DEW Farms with his dad and brothers. Dave enjoyed hunting, being on the water boating and fishing, trap shooting, bowling and fantasy football. Dave also was a mentor and a natural teacher. He loved supporting youth groups at church, supporting youth hunts, and sharing his knowledge with the younger generation. The shape of his household changed often as he opened his heart and home to relatives and strangers; this past year's adventures included students from France and Germany. His talents included gardening, cooking, sheepshead, and spotting the most comfortable chair in a place. Dave was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Valders and West Maple Grove and Reedsville Sportsmen's Clubs. . Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Connie of Reedsville; children Megan and Sara Lund, both of Oshkosh, and Roberta "Bobbie" Lund, at home; his parents Bill and Germaine of Brillion; his siblings Ann (Craig) Kimmel of Reedsville, Connie (Roland) Neal of McAllen, TX, Diane (Amy Kanan) Hoyer of Sumter, SC, Ed (Jerri) of Menchalville, Julie (special friend Mark Owens) of Brillion, William (special friend Karoline Jensen) of Brillion, and sister and goddaughter Mary Krepline of Brillion; his father-in-law Jim Thiel of Hilbert; his in-laws Joe (Mary) Thiel of Oshkosh, Frank (Faith) Thiel of Reedsville, Terry (Bruce) Thomas of Oshkosh, Sandy (Curtis) Dixon of Winneconne, Carl Thiel (special friend Janie Williams) of Crystal Lake, Tony (Amy) Thiel of Stockbridge, Judy Price (special friend Bart Slye) of Green Bay, Jeff (Adriane) Thiel of Little Chute, Mary (Jarrod) Sandoval of Pueblo, CO, and Anne (Dave) Ruby of Oshkosh; 36 nieces and nephews including his other godchildren Christopher Kimmel, Claire Sandoval, Kyle Hoyer, and Ian Krepline; many other relatives, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his mother-in-law Joan (Propson) Thiel, one infant brother-in-law Edward Thiel, and other relatives. Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 19, 2013 at Faith Lutheran Church in Valders. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Erica Cunningham. Private burial will take place at Holy Trinity Cemetery, town of Maple Grove.
