David Robert Meinert, a dedicated farmer and beloved family man, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2024, at the age of 57, after bravely battling complications of pancreatitis. The child of Richard Meinert and Ophelia (Buch) Meinert Schaefer born on April 18, 1966, in West Bend, David's life was a testament to his unwavering commitment to his family, his farm, and his passion for machinery.

Dave's journey in farming began with his graduation from New Holstein High School in 1984. On May 11, 1991, he married Jacqueline Pickart at St. John's Catholic Church in downtown Johnsburg. Dave, alongside his loving wife, Jacki, and their three beautiful daughters, Amber, Brooke, and Carly, poured his heart into dairy, beef, and grain farming at Hinzeville Registered Holsteins and Linebacks. His connection to the land and animals was profound, reflecting his deep-rooted love for agriculture.

To know Dave is to know he bleeds International Harvester red, Dave's expertise and devotion to his craft were unparalleled. His involvement in organizing plow days with his brother, Henry, not only showcased his knowledge but also demonstrated his dedication to preserving farming traditions and fostering community bonds. We all know one of his favorite tractors was the Steiger.

Beyond his farming endeavors, David was known for his adventurous spirit, quick wit, and contagious laughter. He was a dare devil and an instigator, especially with the farm crew. He was always up to something. He had such "finesse" in the kitchen with his dorky and annoying sounds. Dave never met a sweet he didn't like from ice cream to M&M's and let's not forget his portion sizes.

Dave's most cherished role in life was that of a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, and Opa. His new found love with his grandson Maxwell and the time that they enjoyed watching tractor videos, bidding on auction items and doing all the farm work. His newest addition to the farm crew, his granddaughter Ophelia, named after his loving mother, who sure also has the stubborn Meinert attitude.

Dave's legacy will go on with his wife of thirty-three years, Jacki; their children, Amber (Jon) Taylor, Brooke, and Carly (significant other, Sam); his grandchildren, Maxwell David and Ophelia Rosemary; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Shirley Pickart. He is further survived by his siblings, Henry (Julie) Meinert and their children Laney and Will; Sue (Dave) Weber and their children, Justin (significant other, Hannah), Avery, and Lauren; and Tammy Meinert; His sister-in-law, Jeri (Tim) Roberts and Jeri & Louie's daughter, Shelby (Kage) Negron. He was also survived by Jacki's siblings, Jeff (Tammy) Krug-Pickart and their son Richard (significant other, Clara) Cawthon, Kim (Steve) Graf and their children Hannah (fiancé, Randy), Luke, and Lexi. He is also survived by many friends, neighbors and the Hinzeville crew.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Louie Meinert; and his step father, Dick Schaefer.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at the Sippel Funeral Home, 2618 Altona Avenue, New Holstein, WI 53061.

Visitation: Family and friends may visit with Dave's family at the Sippel Funeral Home in New Holstein on Friday, April 26th from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM and visitation will also be at the funeral home Saturday morning, April 27th, from 9:30 AM until 11:30 AM.

A Memorial Tractor Ride will be held with the annual Meinert tractor plowing days this fall; date to be determined.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the medical professionals at SSM St. Agnes and Froedtert Hospital for their compassionate care during David's illness.

Dave's family encourages casual attire, especially red or International Harvester attire.
