Deborah Meetz

June 6, 1955 — August 20, 2016

Deborah “Debbie” Lynn (Jacob) Meetz passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at her son's home, surrounded by her family after a long courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on June 6th, 1955 to Robert and Roberta Jacob. She loved everyone she came in touch with and left a smile on their hearts. She had a deep love for the special needs people she cared for at Clarity Care, Main St. Group home Brillion, being manager at Steen Port Group home Chilton and for the special people she brought into her home to love and care for. She also helped shape the lives of many children she taught at CLC Academy in Neenah where she also shared her love of God. She was a participating member of Cross Point church in Neenah.

Debbie loved sharing laughter and joy with family and friends. She always enjoyed going out with her friends from high school. Her personal relationship with God was both the most important thing in her life and an inspiration to many. Her deep faith is what carried her through her struggle. After God, came her children, stepchildren and grandchildren. Debbie's heart was as big and as warm as the sun.

She is survived by her husband, Royal Meetz; her children, son: Bill (Shanna) VanAsten, daughter: Nicole (Richard) Hawtrey, their father, Lyle VanAsten; her grandchildren: Allie, Joe, Noah, baby girl VanAsten, Whitney, Chase, and Payton; her four stepchilderen: Mike Meetz and special friend Wanita, Bill (Lindsay) Meetz, Lacy (Eric) Eickert, and Lucy Meetz; her brothers and sisters: Mary (Larry) Daul, Bill (Sue) VanDenEng, Kathy (Butch) Hopfensperger, Roger (Brenda) VanDenEng, Robert (Susan) Jacob, James (Becky) VanDenEng and many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her father Robert Jacob, her mother Roberta VanDenEng and Marvin VanDenEng, Her Children: Jessie James, Shawn Marie and Dawn Marie.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Thursday, August 25th at Cross Point Church, 670 Green Bay Road in Neenah.  Memory sharing to begin at 9:00 a.m. with a service at 11:00 a.m.

Online condolences may be made.

A special thanks to Kathy and Butch Hopfensperger for the care and love they gave Debbie over the past year she stayed with them. Also thank you to Heartland Hospice and to Dr. Nancy Davis and the nurses and staff at Aurora Bay Care in Green Bay.

Mom, we were never wealthy, but because of your selflessness, we never wanted for anything. We will carry on your love for Christmas and for each other. We hope to live up to your example as loving parents. You are the woman in Proverbs 31, we can truly rise up and call you blessed. We will miss you everyday of our lives until we meet again
