Delmar C. Burg, age 81, of New Holstein, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on October 8, 2014 at Cherry Meadows Hospice.
He was born in the town of Calumet on June 30, 1933 to the late Ervin and Laverna (Heller) Burg.
Delmar attended Garnet School in Malone, town of Calumet and graduated from Chilton High School in 1951. He also completed the Dale Carnegie Sales Course. Delmar served in the US Army from 1954-1955.
On November 27, 1957 he married his wife, the late Donna (Schmitz) Burg in Dubuque, Iowa.
He worked in sales at Hingiss Implement in Chilton. Later, he was employed at Wil-rich Manufacturing as a Sales Manager, until retiring in 1998.
Delmar was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in New Holstein and the New Holstein American Legion Post 124.
He enjoyed watching and feeding his birds, taking care of his grand-dogs, Barley and Lucky, and golfing.
Survivors include a son, Ron Burg of San Francisco; three daughters, Laurie Collin of Menasha, Karen (John) Vanderwall of Wrightstown, and Sandy (Dave) Friess of Oshkosh; a sister, Dolores (Marvin) Buechel of Chilton; a sister-in-law, Rita Schneider of New Holstein; a brother-in-law, James (Jean) Schmitz of Fond du Lac; and many other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his lovely wife, Donna; his parents; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Edgar (Marie) Schmitz; his brother and sister-in-law, Gerald (Louise) Burg; and his brother-in-law, Mark Schneider.
A private service will be held.
