Delmar G.
Nett
Sep 28, 1938 — Nov 9, 2025
Delmar G. Nett, 87, of New Holstein passed away peacefully on November 29, 2025, at his home. He was born September 28, 1938, at the Nett homestead in the Town of Brothertown to the late Peter and Apollonia (Buechel) Nett as the youngest son of 9 children. He attended Jericho Trinity School through 8th grade, after which he worked full-time on the family farm. His parents had taken jobs off the farm to support the family, and Delmar was tasked with helping to keep the farm running. He often joked, saying "Not bad for an 8th grade education."
He married Kathleen Reiser on May 26, 1962, at St. Augustine Church in Chilton.
Although Delmar was always a farm boy at heart, he was a truck driver all his life. He logged over 1 million miles while driving a gasoline tanker semi-truck for many years. His routes consisted of loading gasoline from the bulk plant in Green Bay and delivering to gas stations from Green Bay to Milwaukee. Delmar then delivered fuel oil and diesel fuel to local families and farms over the next 21 years with Winkler Oil Co. He drove dump truck for VandeVaart for the next 10 years and worked during the construction of Whistling Straits during the late 1990s. He spent his last few years before retirement working part-time for NAPA Auto Parts.
Del had a small collection of antique Ferugson tractors and he proudly owned a 1955 Chev BelAir. He and Kathy enjoyed taking their grandchildren for rides in the '55 over the years. Delmar also enjoyed polka music and had been a loyal listener to the Jerry Schneider radio show for many years. He could be found putzing around in his garage, whistling along with the music.
Delmar is survived by his wife of 63 years, Kathy, and his 3 children, Karen Schmid, Donna Nett-Heus, and Paul (Deborah) Nett. He was grandpa to Bradley (fiancee Tara) Schmid, Becky (Frankie) Rodriguez, H. Lucas Heus, Alexandra (Jeremy) Pantzlaff, Katelynn (Luke) Greeneway, and Emily Heus and great-grandchildren Asher and Emilia Rodriguez, and Tara's boys, Eli, Landon, and Hayden.
He is also survived by his siblings Lester Nett, Darlene (Thomas) Elias, and Elaine (John) Hanby, in-laws Janice Nett, LeRoy (Kathleen) Reiser, Donald (Denise) Reiser, and Floyd Biese, and cousins, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Robert (Viola) Nett, Doris (Daniel) Steinke, Marvin Nett, Donald Nett, Ronald Nett and in-laws Elaine Nett, Laurel Nett, Otto and Dorothy Reiser, Bernice Biese, and a granddaughter Heidi Heus.
