Delmore A. Koenigs, age 85, of Malone, died Saturday, February 13, 2010.
He was born March 3, 1924, in Johnsburg, son of the late Henry N. and Mary (Konen) Koenigs.
Delmore served with the U.S. Army in Japan from January 27, 1949 to February 22, 1950. Upon returning from service, Delmore worked for A. O Smith in Milwaukee for several years. Following A.O. Smith, Delmore worked at Tecumseh in New Holstein until his retirement.
Delmore was a member of the Johnsburg/ Calumet Improved Order of the Red Men, and had been honored with their 50 year membership award. He was also an active member of the Malone Area Heritage Museum. He was life long member of St. John the Baptist Parish in Johnsburg.
He loved golfing and golfed every chance he could. He had many good friends among the various Leagues and Golf Groups he golfed with. Delmore enjoyed people and could make himself at home with friends of all ages.
Survivors include his brother, Edwin Koenigs of Fond du Lac (St. Peter); his sister, Ella Mae (Alphonse) Schneider of Malone; nieces; nephews; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Edna Koenigs; two brothers, Melvin and Lawrence Koenigs: and two sisters-in-law, Alice Koenigs and Mildred Koenigs.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 19, 2010 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, N9288 County Hwy W, Fond du Lac, WI (Johnsburg), with the Rev. Joseph Coerber; pastor officiating. Burial with Military rites will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation: Family and friends may call at the Sippel Funeral Home, 1311 Thorp Street, St. Cloud, WI, on Thursday, February 18, 2010, from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at the funeral home on Friday morning from 8:45 to 9:45 am when brief family rites will be held.
