Deloris "Dee" Marcella Benzschawel, age 87, passed away Saturday, October 31 at Carolina Manor in Appleton. Deloris was born May 16, 1928 on the family homestead in the Town of Schleswig, WI. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Marcella (Gries) Mueller. She married Clifford John Benzschawel on May 17, 1947 at Holy Trinity in School Hill. The couple celebrated 46 years together before he preceded her in death in 1993. Dee lived in Sheboygan, Brillion, Pickerel, Kaukauna and most recently Appleton. She retired from the Brillion Iron Works where she had worked for many years. She was a member of Holy Family Parish in Brillion and a friend of Bill W for 39 Years. Many hours were spent with family and friends playing Bingo, Sheepshead, Nickels and motorcycling. She also enjoyed crocheting lap robes for residents of St. Paul's Home in Kaukauna and various items for family members. Dee was the president of the tenants association at Golden Ventures for eight years. Deloris is survived by her seven children: Connie (Bill) Radtke of Greenville, Glen Benzschawel of Appleton, Shirley Jansen (Special Friend Dan Sohre) of Kaukauna, Alan "Benji" (Pam) Benzschawel of Gulfport, MS, Gary (Jeri) Benzschawel of Hayward, Todd (Fiancé Ann Rene' Bailey) Benzschawel, of Eastview, KY, Bonnie (Ian) Davison of Cedarburg. Grandchildren include Sarah (Jerry) Konrad, Jennifer (Erik) Steffen, Laura (Shaun) Parsley, James Benzschawel (friend Lona Aguilar), Michael (Kara) Benzschawel, Paul (Nicole) Benzschawel, Lisa (Art) Norton, Corey Jansen, Nathan Benzschawel, Nicholas Benzschawel, Ashli Benzschawel, Anthony AJ' Benzschawel, Ethan Davison and Isaac Davison as well as sixteen great-grandchildren. Deloris is also survived by siblings, Leon (Grace) Mueller, Valeria "Mutzie" Niels, and sisters'-in-law Margaret "Margie" Mueller and Mary Mueller. She is further survived by her brother-in-law Gerald (Betty) Benzschawel. Numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends further survive. She was preceded in death by her husband Clifford, brothers: Marvin Mueller and Elroy Mueller, In-laws: Leander and Regina Benzschawel, Lester and Virginia Benzschawel, Rose and Peter Heimermann. Son-in-law Tim Jansen, Daughter-in-law Linda Benzschawel and great-grandchild Alex Konrad. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Brillion. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Timothy Brandt. Entombment will take place at Knollwood Mausoleum, town of Kossuth. Friends may call at the Wieting Funeral Home, 215 South Main Street in Brillion on Wednesday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A prayer service will conclude the visitation, lead by Rita Heraly. The visitation will continue at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Morning prayers will conclude this visitation. We will then process to church for Mass.
