Delphine "Delly" E. Butz, age 97, of St. Cloud, passed away peacefully Sunday, November 26, 2017, at the Villa Rosa Assisted Living in Mount Calvary where she resided since September. Delly was born March 6, 1920, in St. Joe near Wolf Lake to Math & Catherine (Halfman) Mauer. She attended St. Joseph Catholic Grade School in St. Joe and graduated from Fond du Lac Senior High School in 1939. On November 1945, she married Robert "Bob" Butz at St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Joe. Delly and Bob lived in St. Cloud all their married life. Bob preceded her in death on March 14, 1989. Delly was a Homemaker all her life. She was a member of St. Isidore Parish-St. Cloud Church, Christian Women's Society, and the St. Cloud Athletic Club. She was a charter member of the St. Cloud American Legion Auxiliary. Delly volunteered at Villa Loretto since 1982 and with the Holyland Blood Drive at Mount Calvary since 1970. She also worked as a Poll worker with the Village of St. Cloud. Delly loved to travel, cook, bake (best known for her peanut squares), doing crossword puzzles, and playing cards with the many card parties/clubs she belonged to. She loved socializing. Survivors include her four children, Larry (Anna Mae) Butz of Fond du Lac, Ron (Tess) Butz of Fond du Lac, Kathy (David) Trawitzki of West Allis, and Marge (Tom) Schirmer of Elkhart Lake; eight grandchildren, Carrie Edwards, Jeff Butz, Todd Butz, Kyle Butz, Rob Trawitzki, Ashley Trawitzki, Lucas Schirmer, and Dayna Schirmer; five great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Ruth Mauer, Mary Mauer, and Carol Butz. She is further survived by nieces; nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Math & Catherine Mauer, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her sister, Velma Lefeber; and two brothers, Wally and Mert. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 1, 2017, at St. Isidore Parish-St. Cloud Church, 924 Main Street, St. Cloud, WI 53079. Rev. Larry Abler, OFM Cap will officiate. Delly will be laid to rest next to her husband in the St. Cloud Cemetery. Visitation: Family and friends may visit with the family on Thursday, November 30th at the Sippel Funeral Home, 1311 Thorp Street, St. Cloud from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be held at the church Friday morning, December 1st from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM. The St. Cloud American Legion Auxiliary will conduct their service at 6:00 PM Thursday evening at the funeral home. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home at 7:00 PM Thursday evening.
