Delphine J. Konen, age 81, of New Holstein passed away Friday, May 16, 2014, at the Appleton Medical Center due to complications from surgery she had in March.
The former Delphine Wagner was born August 12, 1932, in Jericho to the late Charles & Louise (Olbrich) Wagner.
On November 26, 1953, she married Harvey Konen at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Jericho. Harvey preceded her in death on May 26, 2005.
Delphine had worked at the former Leverenz Shoe Company in New Holstein. In her retirement years, she worked part time at the local area newspapers inserting fliers and volunteered at the New Holstein Elementary School. Most recently she volunteered at the New Holstein Senior Center where she enjoyed new friendships.
She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein and the Christian Women's Society. Delphine enjoyed going to her grandchildren's sporting and school events, playing with her great grandchildren, and simply just being with her family. She also enjoyed crafts, puzzles, playing cards, and was an accomplished seamstress.
Survivors include her children, Lynn (Ken) Schnell of Cleveland, WI and Charles (Linda) Konen of Malone "St. Peter"; five grandchildren, Nathan, Jacob, and Rachel Schnell, Bradley (Cassie) Konen, and Kayla Konen; a step grandchild, Ben Schnell; two great grandchildren, Rylan and Gracyn Konen; a brother-in-law, Elmer Nett of Marytown; and a sister-in-law, Evelyn Olig of Fond du Lac.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; a son, Rodney; four brothers, William (Frances) Wagner, Ambrose (Hattie) Wagner, Reno (Helen) Wagner, and Martin Wagner; three sisters, Lorine (Emmanuel) Nadler, Esther Nett, and Odelia (Erwin) Ramminger; a brother-in-law, Eugene (Marie) Konen; and her sister-in-law, Delores (Orville) Anhalt.
Funeral Services will be held at 4:30 PM on Monday, May 19, 2014, at the Sippel Funeral Home 2618 Altona Avenue New Holstein, WI 53061. Burial will be in the Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery.
Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday afternoon May 19th from 2:00 PM until the time of services.
