Dolores Marie
Buechel
Oct 14, 1934 — Jun 24, 2023
Dolores Marie Buechel from New Holstein passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, June 24, 2023.
She was born at her parent's home in Marytown on October 14, 1934, and was the oldest of four children. She attended Marytown Catholic School, and for many years was employed at Tecumseh Products, Leverenz Shoe Factory and the New Holstein Elementary School.
Dolores was united in marriage to Ronald Jacob Buechel on June 2, 1956 at St Mary's Catholic Church, Marytown, WI. He preceded her in death on January 18, 2012.
Dolores was kind and compassionate and dearly loved her family. She was fun loving, laughed easily, and was quick to participate in activities regardless of how silly they might have been. She enjoyed playing Sheepshead, Dice, and Bingo and was one of those lucky people who many times won the game or the drawing. In her earlier years, she was on both a local bowling and golf league. In her later years, she began her day with a Word Search and as the day came to an end, watching the Wheel of Fortune.
She enjoyed being in the kitchen…best known for her famous casseroles, chop suey, peanut squares (lady fingers), banana bread, fruit cake and much more. She loved flowers, ice cream, and candy bars - all of the sweet things in life - and of course wearing the latest fashion trends.
Dolores was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, a member of the Christian Mothers Society and the American Legion Post 124-New Holstein.
Survivors include her four children, Douglas (Kathy) Buechel of McFarland; Debra (Randy) Scheidt of New Holstein; Daniel (Joan) Buechel of Fond du Lac; Denise (Tony) Burg of St Cloud; her grandchildren, Kristin (Casey) Ausloos, Wesley (Katie) Scheidt, Lyndsey (Kevin) Newton, Zach Buechel, Carlee and Lydia Burg; and her great grandchildren; Brady, Olivia and Anderson Ausloos; Hadley and Mason Scheidt; and James Douglas (JD) Newton. Her sisters Rita (Allen) Klotz and Joan Carpenter; and Sister-in Laws Lori Heus, Alice Mayer, and Janice Rieder. Additionally, her canine companions, Bentley, Ryker and Blue.
Those preceding her in death include her husband, Ronald; parents, Veronica and Gilbert Heus; father- and mother-in-law; Engelbert and Isabel Buechel; her brother, Jim Heus; sister-in-laws, MaryJane Buechel and Lilas Hertel; and brother-in laws, Donald Buechel, Dale Carpenter, Robert Hertel, Clifford Mayer, and Gordon Rieder.
A liturgy mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am on Monday, July 10, 2023 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1724 Madison Street, New Holstein, WI 53061. Interment following the service in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the Sippel Funeral Home, 2618 Altona Avenue, New Holstein, WI 53061, on Sunday, July 9, 2023 from 3pm-5pm and visitation will also be held on Monday July 10, 2023 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church from 9:30am-10:30am.
