Dolores A. Fett
Our loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Dolores A. Fett of New Holstein, was called home to her Lord on Wednesday, December 28, 2011.
Dolores was born on September 23, 1923 in Rio Creek, WI to Walter and Mary Sell. She graduated from Casco High School as Valedictorian in 1939. On September 30, 1941 Dolores married Allan Fett at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Lincoln, WI.
Dolores managed Shorty's Bar while her husband worked at Sturgeon Bay Shipyard. After starting a family, they moved to New Holstein in 1957. She worked as homemaker, mother, and as bookkeeper at AC Fett & Sons until retiring in 1984. She was also an active Den Mother while all of her sons went through scouting.
She was a member of The Christian Ladies of Holy Rosary Parish as well as the funeral choir. For many years she was a member of the Homemakers Club where she enjoyed making crafts and camaraderie with her friends. She enjoyed being a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church's Thursday morning Bible study group.
Survivors include her six sons, Michael (Diane), Marc, Allan Jr. (Dianne), James (Barbara), Charles (Kathy), and David (Deb); Grandchildren, Ryan (Jackie), Rob (Alison), Talia (James) McCabe, Lauran, Sallie, Leah, and Erin; Step-grandchildren, Jonathan and David; and five great-grandchildren, Abby, Jack, Madi, Charlie, and Vincent. Dolores is also survived by her sister, June Weidner; her brother, Robert Sell; and many nephews and nieces, especially Jane Abreu.
Dolores was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 52 years, Allan Sr. and her brother, Norbert Sell.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1724 Madison Street in New Holstein. Rev. Harold Berryman and Deacon Pat Knier will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Family and friends may call at the Sippel Funeral Home, 2618 Altona Avenue in New Holstein, on Friday, December 30th from 4:00 PM – 7:30 PM and again at the funeral home Saturday morning from 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM when brief family rites will be held.
A prayer service will be held at the funeral home Friday evening at 7:30 PM
Memorials may be directed in Dolores' name to the St. Paul's Hospice Endowment Fund.
