Dolores M. Hau, age 97, formerly of St. Cloud, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2014, at the St. Francis Home in Fond du Lac. The former Dolores Mueller was born July 28, 1916, on the family homestead near Campbellsport; a daughter of the late Egedius "Ed" & Mary (Volm) Mueller. On September 5, 1938, she married Gregory Hau at St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Campbellsport. Gregory preceded her in death on November 26, 1999. The couple farmed in the Armstrong and St. Cloud area before they moved onto the Hau homestead in the Town of Greenbush in Sheboygan County. They remained there until their retirement. Dolores was a member of St. Isidore Parish-St. Cloud Church in St. Cloud and the Christian Women's Society. She bowled in the local league with other area women and also enjoyed Wii bowling. Dolores truly cherished her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her great-great-grandchild. She is survived by her nine children, David (Barbara) Hau of Glenbeulah, Robert (Jane) Hau of Glenbeulah, Fred (Joan) Hau of Wautoma, Jerome (Julie) Hau of Campbellsport, Ken (Sandy) Hau of Glenbeulah, Mary (Fred) Ferguson of Brownsville, Dean (Kaye) Hau of Glenbeulah, Gary (Jenny) Hau of Plymouth, and Allen (Barbara) Hau of Glenbeulah; 34 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; four sisters, Lorene (Joe) Nantz of Milwaukee, Marie Booth of Milwaukee, Bernice Herbst of Friendship, and Loretta Williams of Milwaukee; a brother-in-law, Roger (Ann) Hau of Sun Prairie; and three sisters-in-law, Marge Hau of Plymouth, Joan Hau of Fond du Lac, and Wilma Smedberg of Fond du Lac. Preceding her in death were her parents, Ed & Mary Mueller; her husband, Gregory Hau; a grandchild, Kevin Hau; a grandson-in-law, Tom Frey; two sisters, Margaret (Felix) Wrobleski and Alice (Al) Cibroski; her brother, Eddie (Helen) Mueller; her brothers-in-law, Larry Herbst, Carl Booth, Edwin Williams, Albert (Marge) Hau, Richard Hau, Ervin (Laura) Hau, Joseph Hau, and Carl "Swede" Smedberg; her sisters-in-law, Gertrude (Claude) Wimberger, Aurelia Olig Jones and her first husband, Bruno "Ted" Olig and her second husband, Gordon Jones, Margaret (Ed) Anders, Josie (Miles) Phalen, and Rose (Francis) Sippel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, June 2, 2014, at St. Isidore Parish-St. Cloud Church 924 Main Street St. Cloud, WI 53079. Rev. Gary Wegner OFM Cap will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Cloud Catholic Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the Sippel Funeral Home 1311 Thorp Street in St. Cloud on Sunday, June 1, 2014 from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM and again at the funeral home Monday morning June 2nd from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM when brief rites will be held. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home Sunday evening at 5:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed for the St. Jude Research Hospital.
