Donald L. Loose, age 92, formerly of Reedsville, died Thursday morning, August 14, 2025 at West Haven, Brillion.
He was born on April 29, 1933 on the home farm in the town of Charlestown, son of the late Milford and Rufina (Lau) Loose. On February 8, 1958 he married the former Jeannette Haas. Donald & Jeannette were farmers and he also was employed at Brillion Iron Works for 44 years as a master electrician. He had a passion for bicycle riding and would bike to work 10 months out of the year and even in his retirement just for fun, wearing his orange hat. Don was a member of St. John St. James Ev. Lutheran Church where he served as an usher and served on the building and grounds committees. They also enjoyed bus trips to Nashville, Branson, and Alaska. They were in the neighborhood card club where he enjoyed playing sheepshead, liked deer and pheasant hunting, attending their grandchildren’s sporting events, and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Jeannette, Brillion; three sons and daughters-in-law: Mark & Julie Loose, Reedsville, Tim & Diane Loose, Menchalville, Dan & Susan Loose, Reedsville; his grandchildren: Adam & Cassie, Michael & Kalynne, Kendra, Mason, Karissa & Beau Baroun; and great grandchildren: Arlo, Warren, Harrison, Nathaniel, Theodore Loose, and Emerson Baroun. Also surviving is a sister: Marlene Lemke; and in-laws: Mary O’Hearn, Shirley Hofacker, Carolyn & Ed Tackett, Paul & Carol Haas, and Lois & Bob Lehmann. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
He was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Edward & Mary “Mayme” Haas; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Myron “Mike” & Leone “Tuddy” Loose and Randy & Debbie Loose, and in-laws: Jerry Lemke, Tom O’Hearn, Jim Hofacker, Bob & Elaine Haas, Jim Stein, Kathy Haas, and John O’Conner, Sr.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 22, 2025 at St. John St. James EV. Lutheran Church, Reedsville. Officiating will be Rev. Darin Aden.
