Donald J. Steinfest, age 83, of Brillion, died on Friday, October 31, 2014 at Brillion Westhaven. He was born on September 24, 1931 in the Town of Maple Grove, son of the late William & Eleanor (Moser) Steinfest. He married Marlene Rabe on October 14, 1961. She preceded him in death on December 13, 1992. On April 12, 1997, he married Gloria Schuh. She preceded him in death on March 27, 2014. Don served our country in the U.S. Army. After his military service, he worked at Kohler Co, and in 1961 he took over the family farm in the Town of Maple Grove. Don was a member of Holy Family Parish in Brillion, the Becker, Bloedorn, Jensen American Legion Post #126 of Brillion and the West Maple Grove Hunting Club. Survivors include his children, Lori (Brian) Horn, Dale Steinfest, Dean (Sharon) Steinfest and Darrel (Heather) Steinfest all of Brillion, his grandchildren, Amber (Kevin) Leiterman, Michael (Brittney) Horn, Thomas (Elizabeth) Horn, Sierra Steinfest, Kaylah, Josie, and Justin McDaniel, great grandchildren Grant, Trent, Mason and Kaiden, his step children Ellen Bays, Steve (Ann) Schuh and Sue (Brian) Jensen, step grandchildren Rhonda, Carrie, Jacquelyn, Matthew, Kevin, Zach and Josh, his siblings James (Rae Marie) Steinfest of Brillion, Lois (Kenneth) Wenzel of New Holstein, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Cheryl (Rick) Reitveld of Sherwood and Gerald (Theresa) Rabe of Howards Grove, and many other relatives and friends. Don was preceded in death by his wives, Marlene and Gloria, an infant son Brian, a brother Thomas Steinfest, sister-in-law Sallie Steinfest and brother-in-law Glenn Rabe. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday November 3, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Brillion. The Rev. Timothy Brandt will officiate. Burial will be in The Brillion Community Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Sunday from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. and then again at the church on Monday from 9:00-10:30 a.m. with mass to follow at 11:00 a.m. A parish prayer service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening.
