Dorilyn M. Kanter, age 70, of Reedsville, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 14, 2026 at her residence with her sister, Denise and sister-in-law, Jane by her side.
Dori was born in Florence, WI on June 29, 1955, daughter of the late George and Mary (Burich) Kanter.
Survivors include her brothers and sisters: Dennis (Lila) Kanter, Darwin (Robin) Kanter, Dean (Jane) Kanter, Dianne Carmody, Danette Kanter, Denise (Mike) Weber, Deborah (Tim) Karl, Dorothy (Patrick) Fitzgerald; sisters-in-law: Shirley Kanter. Over 150 nieces and nephews, whom she called “my kids” as well other relatives and friends also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings: Daniel, Donald (Joan) Kanter, Delores (Jerome) Moller, Darlene Balliew; grandparents: William & Lena Kanter and Charles & Mary Burich; brother-in-law: Michael Stetson and numerous nieces, nephews aunts and uncles.
Mass of Christian Burial for Dori will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 11:00AM at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Whitelaw. Officiating at the service will be Rev. Josuva Arulanandu and Deacon Randy Jaeckels. Per Dori’s wishes, cremation has taken place and she will be laid to rest at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Reedsville at a later date.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the church from 9:00AM until the time of services at 10:45AM.
In lieu of flowers please donate blood in memory of Dori as it gave her extra time to spend with us with her blood transfusions. If you are unable to donate blood, please feel free to donate memorials in her name to Versiti.
A special thank you to Sharon S. Richardson Hospice for the care and compassion shown to Dori and her family; Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center, Milwaukee team for allowing us to spend more years with Dori.
Vernetta, thank you for always being there for her, you were a great friend.
