Doris Mae Knoespel

Doris Mae Knoespel, age 96, of Brillion, passed away on Saturday December 9, 2017 at Brillion West Haven. She was born in the Town of Eldorado, Fond du Lac County, on July 6, 1921, daughter of the late Henry and Adeline (Eilert) Halle. She graduated from North Fond du Lac High School in 1939 and attended Marion University, graduating in 1943 as a Registered Nurse. On April 14, 1945 Doris married Allen Knoespel at Salem Evangelical Church in Fond du Lac. She worked as an R.N. at Kaukauna Hospital until its closure and then worked at the Brillion Iron Works as an industrial nurse, retiring in 1983 after 15 years of service. Doris was an active member of Zion United Methodist Church in Forest Junction. Survivors include a sister-in-law, Esther Knoespel, her godson Michael Knoespel, her adopted family, Lillian, Todd, Angie, Lauren, Ella and Ava Kuchenbecker, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Allen in 2001, a son Craig in 1965, a son Bob in 2003, a brother Merlin Halle, a sister Marian Possin, adopted family member Harland Kuchenbecker and other family and friends. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Zion United Methodist Church in Forest Junction. The Rev. Sang You will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery.
