Three special angels, with outstretched arms, welcomed Doris Mahnke, age 82, a resident of the Town of Woodville, to Heaven on January 30, 2023. Her special daughter-in-law, Karen, stroked her hair, said Love You Mom and told her it’s okay. She knew everything would be okay with her family. She wasn’t afraid. She was at peace in the end. Doris was born on July 17, 1940 to Anthony and Juanita (Wilson) Wyngaard in Stockbridge, WI. She married Milton (Butch) Mahnke on November 8, 1958 at St. Mary Parish, Kaukauna, WI. On November 8, 2022 they celebrated 64 years of marriage. She lived a hard life helping Butch on their family farm in Woodville. She sold Avon products earning awards through the Presidents Club. She was involved in Christian Mothers and volunteered at Sacred Heart Parish, Sherwood. Doris was also with the Women’s Bowling Club. She played the role of Mother, not only for her children, but also for a few other kids that needed a “Mother’s” Touch. She liked reading, coloring and crossword puzzles in the past. Watching birds outside her kitchen window and her room window at Cherry Meadows. Doris enjoyed going to Hawaii twice and Mexico. Doris was preceded in death by her parents: Anthony and Juanita Wyngaard; daughters: Tina Mahnke and Nancy Cummings; granddaughter: Nikki (daughter of Karen and Dale); brothers: Lester, Elroy and twins Dale and Dean Wyngaard; Milton’s parents: Gilbert and Hattie (Laabs) Mahnke; brothers-in-law: Cletus Meyerhofer and Robert Schroeder; sisters-in-law: Francine and Sharon Wyngaard and special friend: Ron. Doris is survived by her husband: Milton; her children: Dale (Karen), Darlene, Carol, and Richard; son-in-law: Pat Cummings; grandchildren: Kara (Jeff), Rob (children Alize and Diem), Thomas, Ashley (children Hattie and Wesley), Tracy, Justin, Rasha, Zach (son Nolan), John and Teresa. Doris is also survived by brothers and sisters: Wilma Schroeder, Anthony (Darlene) Wyngaard Jr., John (Judy) Wyngaard; Francis (Linda) Wyngaard, Lynn (Ron) Brux, Donna (Neil) Dercks, Marvin (friend Ken), Karen (Fred) Young, Sue Van Lanen and a sister-in-law: Mary Meyerhofer. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 6, 2023 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sherwood. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Father Mike Betley with burial in the church cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends at The Pielhop Wieting Funeral Home, Brillion, from 11:00 a.m. Sunday, February 5, 2023 until 3:00 p.m. A prayer service will conclude the visitation at 3:00 p.m. led by Diane Wickerscheim. Friends may also call Monday morning at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sherwood, from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Online condolences may be made. The family would like to give their appreciation to Cherry Meadows nurses and staff. Karen said Mom always had the biggest smile when each one of them came in to clean her up.
