Doris M. Presto, 88, of Chilton, passed away Saturday, July 5, 2014, at her home following a battle with cancer. The former Doris Wendel was born August 8, 1925, to the late Charles & Adela (Franzen) Wendel. Doris graduated from New Holstein High School in 1943. On May 8, 1948, she married Louis Presto at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein. She had worked in Bookkeeping at the Calumet Homestead and later was employed as a secretary at the New Holstein Elementary School where she remained until her retirement. Doris was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein. Survivors include her husband, Louis; seven children, Linda Presto of Shorewood, Michael (Ann) Presto of Valders, Laura (Thomas) Casper of Elkhart Lake, Joan (Thomas) Ellenbecker of Madison, Jean (Mike) Stephan of Plymouth, Susan (Thomas) Beyer of Hilbert, and Steven Presto of Florida; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Alice (Alfred) Zeller of Green Bay, Charlotte Shaver of Kiel, and Shirley Pickrin of TX; and her brother, David (Cynthia) Wendel of Eau Claire. She was preceded in death by her parents. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 10, 2014, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church 1724 Madison Street New Holstein, WI 53061. Rev. Harold Berryman will officiate with Deacon Pat Knier assisting. Family and friends may call at the church Thursday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of services. Memorials in Doris' name may be directed for the New Holstein and Chilton public libraries.
