Dorothy M. Cole, age 92, of Brillion, passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2016, surrounded by her family.

Dorothy was born on February 2, 1924 in Evanston, IL, daughter of the late George and Lucille (Baumhardt) Colling.  She was a graduate of the Catholic High School in Evanston, class of 1942.  On November 22, 1947, she married Kenneth R. Cole.  He preceded her in death on October 12, 2007.  The couple moved throughout their lifetimes.  Married in Evanston, IL, moved to Crivitz and farmed for 23 years. They moved to the Brillion area for a few years.  A work related move brought them to Altoona where they retired and moved to Neenah and then settled in Shawano.  Dorothy moved back to Brillion after Ken’s death.   After farming, Dorothy worked a number of jobs outside of the home. Dorothy was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.  She was a quiet, caring person and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing cards, knitting and crocheting and reading.

She is survived by her children:  Kenneth R. Cole, Jr, of Brillion, Karen (David) Stehula of Appleton, Barbara Krepline of Appleton, Mary (Charles) Wenzel of Brillion, Keith Cole of Brillion, and Kathy (Mark) Vander Wegen of Green Bay; a daughter-in-law: Judy Cole of Brillion; grandchildren: Pamela, Abby, Rachel, Chad (Cathy), Kelly (Mark), Jessica (Kevin), Isaac (Julia), Angie (Chad), Scott (Crystal), Sarah (Patrick) and Kasey; great-grandchildren: Tsiakia, Laomani, Lila, Alexis, Brenden, Merrick, Faith, Addie, Ella, Ean, Easton, Elliot, and Lauren; one sister: Carol Roemer of Arlington Heights, IL, one sister-in-law: Helen Cole of Greenville, TX; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ken, a son-in-law: Ken Siegwarth, a great-granddaughter: Kendra Wenzel, sisters and brothers-in-law: Marion (Tom) Koener, Ginny (Jack) Williams, Don Roemer, and other in-laws.

A private Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 in Brillion.  Officiating will be the Rev. Timothy Brandt, with burial in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery in Brillion.

Friends may call at the church on Tuesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.

Online condolences may be made.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dorothy’s name to American Diabetes Association or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Compassus Hospice and Garrow Villa for the wonderful and compassionate care that was given to Mom.
